Apartment On West 9th Street

ARCHITECTURE & INTERIOR DESIGN

This apartment in the West Village is a complete recreation of a 19th century interior whose character was lost over the years to successive renovations and ultimately to fire. The dining room’s painted paneling conceals a galley kitchen, and pocketing doors open to a living room featuring a studio skylight and laylight composed of steel and colored glass. The interior decoration is a mixture of custom and antique furnishings in addition to a collection of personal memorabilia and artifacts. Photo credit: The Things That Matter/Roger Davies
