John Berson and Brian Sawyer

  JOHN BERSON - John Berson was an associate at Robert A.M. Stern Architects where he worked on residential and institutional projects throughout the United States.  Projects included homes in Houston, Kings Point, Ohio, and Montecito; mixed-use developments in Florida and New York; the Kiawah Island Beach Club; and the Spangler Campus Center at the Harvard Business School.  Mr. Berson has a Bachelor of Arts from Princeton University and a Master in Architecture from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design.  Mr. Berson grew up in Manhattan, where he currently resides, and has for many years maintained a painting studio in the city.  He is a registered architect in New York State and a member of the American Institute of Architects. J. BRIAN SAWYER - J. Brian Sawyer founded Brian Sawyer Design, Sawyer/Berson's predecessor, in 1996 to pursue his interest in architectural design together with landscape architecture.  Prior to that, Mr. Sawyer was an associate and head of the landscape architecture department at Robert A.M. Stern Architects where he participated on a wide range of projects in the United States, England, Canada and Japan.  These included homes in Aspen, Dallas, Montecito, East Hampton, and Toronto, as well as commercial and institutional projects in Charlottesville and Aspen.  Mr. Sawyer has a Bachelor of Arts from Wabash College in Indiana, where he studied music and classical piano as well as biology, and received his Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Virginia.  Mr. Sawyer moved to Manhattan in 1988, where he joined The Central Park Conservancy and worked on various landscape architectural and architectural restoration projects.
